If you have ever missed the smell of dosa hitting a hot tawa, a plate of spicy Bangalore-style masala puri, a comforting bowl of idli, or a flavour-packed biryani, you know that Bangalore food is more than just a meal. It is a feeling.

At Namma Bangalore Vibbes in Carnegie, we wanted to bring that feeling to Melbourne.

NBV was created with one simple idea: bring the flavours, memories and energy of Bangalore to Melbourne. Our menu celebrates Bangalore street food, Karnataka favourites and South Indian classics, alongside a few dishes created with our own NBV twist.

A Taste of Bangalore in Melbourne

Bangalore food has its own personality. It can be simple and comforting one moment, spicy and bold the next.

Think buttery Benne Dosa, crispy masala dosa, soft idlis, spicy chaats, aromatic biryanis and a proper cup of filter coffee.

At NBV, our food is inspired by the dishes we grew up eating and the places Bangaloreans know and love.

One of our favourites is the CTR-style Masala Dosa, served crisp and golden with red chutney and potato filling. For those who love something richer, our Benne Dosa brings that unmistakable buttery Bangalore flavour.

And if you are looking for comfort food, our Ghee Thatte Idli is soft, warm and made even better with ghee.

Bangalore Street Food Without the Flight

For many Bangaloreans, some of the best food memories come from street-side stalls and small local eateries.

That is why Bangalore Masala Puri has a special place on our menu.

Tangy, spicy and full of texture, it is the kind of dish that can instantly take you back home.

We also serve favourites such as Capsicum Bajji, Bonda Soup and Bangalore Chicken Kebab, bringing together the flavours people remember from evenings out in Bangalore.

Donne Biryani — A Karnataka Favourite

Biryani may be found all over India, but Karnataka has its own distinctive styles.

At NBV, Donne Biryani is one of the dishes closest to our identity. Aromatic, flavourful and full of Karnataka spices, it is made for people who enjoy biryani with character.

We have also taken some of our popular dishes and created new combinations, including Chicken Jo Biryani and Prawn Biryani.

Our aim is not simply to recreate familiar food. We also like having fun with Bangalore flavours and giving customers something they may not find everywhere else.

Dishes You Will Only Understand Once You Try Them

Some NBV dishes were created from our love of experimenting with familiar flavours.

Prawn Patrol combines mini idlis with prawn ghee roast flavours, creating a dish that feels both familiar and completely different.

Our Mushroom Ghee Roast Tacos bring Karnataka-style ghee roast flavours into a modern format.

These dishes represent what NBV is about — respecting where the flavours come from while not being afraid to create something new.

Filter Coffee Is Not Just a Drink

A Bangalore meal can never truly be complete without South Indian filter coffee.

At NBV, our filter coffee is made using coffee inspired by Karnataka’s famous coffee-growing region of Chikmagalur.

Strong, aromatic and comforting, it is the perfect finish after dosa, idli or biryani — or simply an excuse to sit down and have a conversation.

Because sometimes coffee is not about caffeine.

It is about memories.

Vegan and Gluten-Free Choices

We know Melbourne diners have different dietary needs, which is why our menu clearly identifies vegan and gluten-free options.

Rather than treating dietary requirements as an afterthought, we want customers to be able to explore South Indian and Karnataka flavours with confidence.

Our team can also help guide you through the menu when you dine with us.

More Than a Restaurant

Namma Bangalore Vibbes was never meant to be only about food.

We wanted it to feel like an adda — a place where people meet, laugh, watch a game, celebrate birthdays and spend time with family and friends.

Upstairs, our RCB Lounge offers a private space for celebrations, group dining and special events, with seating for 40+ guests, a private bar, private restroom and balcony area.

It is another little piece of Bangalore in Melbourne.

Bangalore by Heart, Melbourne by Home

For us, NBV represents two places we love.

Bangalore gave us the flavours, memories and inspiration.

Melbourne gave us the opportunity to share them.

Whether you grew up in Bangalore and are searching for a taste of home, you love South Indian food, or you simply want to discover Karnataka cuisine for the first time, we would love to welcome you.

Come for the dosa.

Stay for the biryani.

Finish with filter coffee.

And experience a little bit of Bangalore in Melbourne.
