There are some days in a restaurant journey that you never forget.
For Namma Bangalore Vibbes, one of those moments came in January 2026, when food writer Dani Valent featured NBV in The Age Good Food.
Her feature captured something we have always wanted NBV to be known for — not only the food, but the energy, personality and complete Bangalore experience.

From Bangalore Memories to Carnegie
Namma Bangalore Vibbes was never created simply to be another Indian restaurant.
We wanted to bring a very particular place to Melbourne.
Bangalore.
The morning dosa runs.
The street-side masala puri.
Hot bajjis when the weather changes.
Donne biryani.
Filter coffee conversations that somehow last much longer than the coffee.
Cricket.
Friends.
Family.
Noise.
And that unmistakable Bangalore energy.
We wanted someone who grew up there to walk through the doors of NBV and feel a little closer to home.
And we wanted someone who had never visited Bangalore to leave thinking:
“I need to experience this city.”
When The Age Good Food Walked In
Restaurants serve hundreds of customers, and you never really know who might be sitting at one of your tables.
So having Dani Valent experience Namma Bangalore Vibbes and feature us in The Age Good Food in January 2026 was a proud moment for our entire team.
The feature described the experience around NBV as being about both the thrilling food and the vibe — something that immediately felt true to what we have been trying to build. (Instagram) Instagram
What made the recognition special was that it wasn’t about only one dish.
It was about the whole experience.
The food.
The personality.
The atmosphere.
The little bit of Bangalore madness.
In other words — the vibbe.
Our Food Has a Bangalore Address
Our menu is proudly inspired by Bangalore and Karnataka.
You will find dishes such as our CTR-style Masala Dosa, crispy and golden with red chutney and potato filling, alongside buttery Benne Dosa, soft Thatte Idli, Bangalore-style Masala Puri and comforting Bonda Soup.
Then comes the food that makes you want to arrive hungry.
Donne Biryani.
Bangalore Chicken Kebab.
Chicken Jo Biryani.
Prawn Biryani.
And a proper South Indian Filter Coffee to finish.
These aren’t dishes we chose because they sounded good on a menu.
They are connected to places, people and memories.
But NBV Also Likes Breaking a Few Rules
We respect tradition.
We also like having fun with it.
That is how some of our own creations found their way onto the menu.
Prawn Patrol brings together mini idlis and prawn ghee roast flavours.
Our Mushroom Ghee Roast Tacos take familiar Karnataka flavours somewhere completely unexpected.
Chicken Jo Biryani brings two NBV favourites together on one plate.
For us, that is what happens when Bangalore memories meet Melbourne creativity.
The Vibbe Matters Just as Much as the Food
Our name is Namma Bangalore Vibbes for a reason.
We didn’t want a restaurant where customers simply eat and leave.
We wanted an adda.
A place to bring friends.
A place to argue about cricket.
A place to celebrate birthdays.
A place where families can sit around a table and order far too much food.
A place where a Bangalorean can hear something, smell something or taste something and suddenly be transported thousands of kilometres home.
That same philosophy continues upstairs in our RCB Lounge, where food, cricket, celebrations, drinks and Bangalore culture come together.
Recognition Means More When You Know Where You Started
Behind every restaurant are stories customers don’t always see.
The long nights.
The menu changes.
The dishes that don’t work the first time.
The customer feedback.
The staff training.
The sacrifices.
The constant question of whether people will understand what you are trying to create.
So when recognition comes from The Age Good Food, you appreciate it differently.
It becomes a reminder that perhaps this crazy idea of bringing our Bangalore to Melbourne is becoming something real.
This One Belongs to Our Customers Too
To every Bangalorean who has told us:
“This reminds me of home.”
To every Melbourne customer who tried Bangalore food for the first time at NBV.
To every person who has recommended us to a friend.
To everyone who has celebrated upstairs, ordered a second dosa, stayed for filter coffee or returned with their family…
Thank you.
Every bit of recognition NBV receives has all of you behind it.
Our Bangalore Story Is Only Beginning
Being featured by Dani Valent in The Age Good Food was a proud chapter.
But it isn’t the end of the story.
We still have more Bangalore flavours to introduce.
More Karnataka stories to tell.
More unusual NBV creations to dream up.
And many more people in Melbourne to introduce to the food culture of the city we love.
We started with one idea:
Bring Bangalore to Melbourne.
And we’re still just getting started.
Namma Bangalore Vibbes
Bangalore by heart. Melbourne by home.
Ooru taste. Oz vibbes.
